Pigmentation comes in various forms and is always more evident following our summer holidays. As much as we try and cover up and protect our skins, it will “rear its head” after an extended exposure to the outdoors; even when wearing sunblock.

The fact is that the sun, and resultant heat, causes an inflammatory reaction in the skin which initiates the formation of pigment.

In January & February we are all about undoing that summer damage and in particular focusing on pigmentation. The Dermaceutic Mela Peel is our go to treatment for any pigment concerns. Not only does it treat pigmentation at every level of formation in the deeper layers of the skin, but it also has a strong ageing preventative “side-effect” that we definitely won’t say no to. The beauty about this treatment is that works exceptionally well with inflammation-driven pigmentation. This is the type of pigmentation that appears simply due to summer heat (not only exposure to the sun). The Mela peel has no down time; which means no peeling, redness or unsightly skin.

If your pigmentation lies deeper in the skin, then we have the new advanced Mela Forte Peel which will target the pigmentation abnormality at a deeper level. This peel does come with downtime due to the deeper working depth and is only available for existing Dermaceutic users. The results to date have been impressive to say the least.

If a peel doesn’t excite you, we can also offer our Limelight Laser treatment. This will target each spot to pull the pigment to the surface and up & out of the skin. You will notice a darkening to the spot that will fade over 7-10 days.

Other than these more specific treatments, we can offer our Optiphi Peels & Classic facials to rejuvenate replenish and refresh those holiday skins. Happy 2019 to all of you and we hope to see you soon.
