Yay! It's Spring and almost time to start exposing our bodies again, so let's get right to our topic this month: Grooming of our Intimate Bits... for both men and women.

Read on, you may learn something new, or just have a laugh.

Let's start with the ladies. We've all been in a group situation before when the girls start chatting about their nether regions and names of treatments start flying out, that end up leaving your jaw a little wider and feeling the need to make a note to Google that "thing" that was mentioned. Whether you pluck, trim, shave, wax, laser, dye, vajazzel , have vajcials or even know what all of these mean, it's important to know what your options are.

Let's not beat about the bush (no pun intended), hair grows for a reason, it protects our skin, controls our body temperature and sometimes gives away our age. But we don't walk around naked these days and so all that bodily hair is a little redundant. As women, we have many options to remove unwanted hair, be it on the face or body and treatment options vary in all shapes and sizes. We all know the more common regions needing attention; the legs, underarms and bikini line. But what about those stray nipple hairs that pop up and the odd chest or belly button hair? Well ladies, they are common and yes you can, and probably should remove them.... unless you plan on growing and plaiting them at some stage!

Bikini lines have progressed since the 80's and we now have an array of shapes to choose from, with the more common options being the Brazilian (thin strip) and Hollywood (all off). You could also get the "sparkle" back in that region and opt for a vajazzel which involves the application of gemstones to your vaginal area. The more recent craze of treatment for this area is a vajcial, which involves a similar treatment to a facial. The skin is cleansed, exfoliated, ingrown hairs removed and nourished with products, and left feeling soft and smooth.

Now gents... manscaping has become a much more common and accepted practice. For years, women have gone to great lengths (some painstaking) to make themselves aesthetic goddesses, whilst men (in general), have continued their Neanderthal ways. So, its tit for tat now really.

Again there are many options for the guys, some rather drastic and painful, and others that men are much more amenable to. Back hair seems to be the most common area that men are bothered with, however chest, buttocks and the odd mankini line are also requested. Similar options apply - shaving, waxing or lasering. If ingrown hairs are a problem or breakouts occur after waxing, then lasering is really your best option as the skin improvement is very noticeable. Guys don't forgot to also check your eyebrows, nose hairs and ears – these are all easy areas to treat and will leave you feeling refreshed and more polished.

Laser hair removal has grown in popularity over the years and is a more costly, yet permanent solution to unwanted hair for both light and dark skins. There's a lot to know about laser hair removal.
