Shedding Winter Skin

We have all experienced that snake-like feeling during winter; of just wanting to walk out of the dry skin capsule that envelops our face and body to reveal a dewy, brighter and smoother skin ready for warmer weather.

As much as I loathe winter (and I mean l-o-a-t-h-e), it does make us appreciate the warmer, wetter, Spring time that much more. Although it’s not Spring yet, we’re getting ourselves ready for it regardless!

Allowing the skin to rid itself of its winter scales is easier than you think. In order to be effective in this process, we must remember two things:

  • Skin cell turnover
  • Product penetration

In order to effectively shed skin, we need to ensure our skins renewal rate or cellular turnover is active. This will mean that new brighter and healthier cells reach the surface a lot faster. We also need to ensure that the products we are using are actually having an effect on the skin – and not just at the surface, the deeper layers need attention too!

Enter the Dermapen™, a revolutionary micro-needling device which aims to tighten, lift and rejuvenate skin. The treatment creates tiny punctures in the skin's surface, causing micro-trauma and inducing a wound healing response, and subsequently, the creation of new healthy collagen. The punctures also act as micro-channels that carry topical nutrients used during the treatment, deep into skin layers for an increased effect. All of which will result in a dewy, smoother and brighter looking skin.

Because the needles oscillate as quickly as they do, the tip of the Dermapen™ easily glides across the skin, without catching or causing unnecessary damage to the skin and with no post-treatment downtime. It is safe to use on all skin types and colour, without the risk of hyper or hypo-pigmentation.

We recommend a series of 3 treatments done at 2 week intervals for best results.
