Skin needling continues to be (for some) a controversial subject. I, for one, have had concerns about needle depths into the skin and how these needles are placed into or onto the skin, at what pressure and most importantly for what skin concerns needling is indicated.

We know that skin needling induces a “wound healing response” and it is this response that sets off a hive of activity within the skin, including the stimulation of collagen production. This, combined with a topical active serum during treatment, will improve a host of various skin conditions, such as:

  • Sun damage
  • Scarring
  • Ageing
  • Rosacea
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Stretch Marks
  • Hair Loss

We are very excited to announce that Pure Aesthetics has introduced the Dermapen treatment which is a more controlled form of skin needling. We feel that it meets our criteria and satisfies our concerns around skin needling treatments.

Dermapen’s controlled effect on the wound healing response enables treatment on ALL skin types and colour, and we are able to ensure:

  • Controlled healing
  • Integrity of the epidermis
  • Scarless wound healing
  • Minimal downtime
  • Customised treatments
  • Patient safety

As mentioned above, skin needling is most certainly NOT suitable for all skin conditions and we would recommend that you speak to a qualified and trusted therapist or doctor before agreeing to this treatment.
