Summer Skin Preparation!

With the first rains having hit Joburg our skins will have started to go through a transformation towards summer. These are our tips to get your gorgeous on for summer and of course the fast approaching festive season:

  • De-hair – spring is the perfect time to start de-fluffing that excess hair in your nether & other regions so that you will be beach-ready for the holidays. We recommend 8-10 treatments for an effective result.
  • The ideal skin preparation for this time of year would be to have a series of skin peels (we recommend Optiphi or Dermaceutic) over 3 or 6 weeks to get rid of that dull winter skin and reveal a healthy, brighter and glowing complexion. These could then be followed by a QMS Collagen Facial to increase hydration levels, plump up the skin and most importantly, combat ageing. The result: a fresh, healthier, younger, better version of you!
  • Getting into a good habit with sunscreen is non-negotiable. We are exposed to UVA, UVB and irradiated light which can cause irreparable damage to our skins, not to mention skin cancer. We recommend Heliocare 360°Airgel for the face and Heliocare SPF50 Spray for the body, for everyday protection.
  • Get your eyelashes fluttering... Instead of false stick on lashes, why not get your own lashes looking just as gorgeous? With MD Lash it really is so easy. One simple step every evening for 4 weeks will have you batting long, thick, luscious eyelashes, much to the envy of your friends. Also consider an eyelash tint just before the holidays for extra enhancement.
  • Many people fail to see the importance of good eyebrows. They really do provide so much emphasis to the face and especially the eyes, providing a frame for these beautiful pathways to the soul! A good eyebrow shape and tint can really change the facial features for the better and make our make-up routines so much easier!
  • Winter hands and feet really are the pits. Dry cuticles and cracked heels leave us embarrassed at the thought of exposing our feet and make hands look so wrinkly! A monthly manicure and pedicure will have you feeling more confident about these extremities. It's time to get those beautiful feet into fabulous footwear.
  • As we are not fans of lying in the sun to get your summer glow on, we recommend an all-over body exfoliation and self-tan application. There are some amazing in-salon and home products available. Why not try a test patch on your skin to see if the colour will suit you?
  • Spring sees the gyms memberships increase and what better way to kick some winter habits than starting a healthy eating and exercise regime. There is no need to overhaul your entire life all at once, just take small steps to make a difference and then build from there. If starting from scratch, we recommend a brisk 30 minute walk every day, cutting out sugar and increasing your water, fresh fruit and vegetable intake.
