Milk Peelease!

That means milk peel please in Prettiful Vocabulary!

I was invited for a milk peel by the lovely ladies at Pure Aesthetics and Dermaceutic.

Pure Aesthetics is a skin care clinic situated inside the Linksfield Hospital. I wouldn't say it is a salon, because it is so much more than that. Pure Aesthetics specialises in skin health, as well as plastic surgery.

Dr Doucas the plastic surgeon has a keen interest in non-invasive, anti-ageing procedures which inspired him to extend his practice into this field, ultimately resulting in the creation of Pure Aesthetics. Ingrid Katz, an extremely knowledgable and qualified therapist is dedicated to helping each client find real solutions for optimal skin health and to reveal their most beautiful and glowing complexion.

With a team like that, what is not to love!

Nicole from Dermaceutic joined me for my treatment to fill me in on what Dermaceutic is, and what they do, and I was impressed. Nicole is very clued up on not only Dermaceutic products, but on general skin health too.

Dermaceutic products are classified as a Cosmeceutical, which according to Wikipedia, cosmeceuticals refers to the combination of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients purporting to have medical or drug-like benefits.

So, in normal english, they have more active ingredients to reveal better results than ordinary cosmetics!

Now for the treatment. The milk peel is a superficial peel and is suited to people suffering from a dull complexion, wrinkles, or someone just looking for smoother, softer skin. It contains glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicyclic acid.

The treatment is only 30 minutes, and the results are amazing! It is recommended to have the peel 4 times in 2 months, once every 2 weeks.

There is a slight tingly sensation, but it is not uncomfortable at all. My skin immediately looked fresher, smoother and more radiant. There is no downtime with this peel, and your skin doesn't physically peel at all. So, you could do this in your lunch break, and go back to work and continue your day. But be prepared for compliments, or questions, because you will be glowing!

After the treatment Nicole asked if I wanted foundation, I first said no, because I didn't want to clog my pores after my peel. She then introduced me to my new best friend, Oxygenetix! It is a breathable foundation which was designed to cover, heal and minimise post procedure scars. It also covers and treats various skin problems such as rashes, dry skin, acne scars and rosacea. You can find more info about this foundation HERE

Between the peel and Oxygenetix my skin has never looked better. I was going out that night, so when I went for a shower, I did not wash my face. Haha, gross I know, but I wanted to keep my face looking exactly how it did when I left Pure Aesthetics, and it did. It has now been two weeks since my peel, and my skin is still radiant and glowing.

I was given a sample of Hyal Ceutic to use as often as possible after the treatment to repair and nourish the skin. Hyal Ceutic is thick and rich, but no clogged pores in sight. My skin did not peel, was not dry and there were no negative side effects after this peel.

The Milk Peel is R700, and worth every cent. After experiencing this peel and the results, I will gladly spend that amount for the next 3 treatments. Speaking of, it has been two weeks since the peel, so I am up for the next one, luckily pay day has just happened!

Besides the professional peels and products, Dermaceutic has a home care range, where you can continue to pamper your skin in the comfort of your own home. For more details, please visit the website HERE

And for the good news! Pure Aesthetics is having a Dermaceutic Promo Day on the 30th July. You can get a FREE Milk or Mask Peel with the purchase of 2 Dermaceutic homecare products and save up to R700.
